1 Lake & Backwater

At a distance of 152 km from Trivandrum and 63 km from Kochi, Alappuzha is a magnificent destination in Kerala with mix of Backwaters and Beach. Alappuzha also known as Alleppey is situated on the shores of Arabian Sea close to the banks of Vembanad Lake. It is the administrative headquarters of Alappuzha district and 6th largest city in Kerala.

3 Eakkal caves

Edakkal Caves are two natural caves located on top of Ambukutty Mala near Ambalavalayal in Wayanad. Edakkal caves are one of the prime tourist places to visit in Wayanad and often represented in the promotion of Wayanad Tourism. Situated an altitude of 4000 feet, these caves were discovered by Fred Fawcett, the then Superintendent of Police of the Malabar district in 1890, during his hunting trip to Wayanad.
 


4 Pookote lake

Pookote Lake, also known as Pookode Lake is a natural fresh water lake situated close to the Kalpetta - Kozhikode main road (1 km) in Wayanad district of Kerala. 5 Wayanad wildlife sanctuary

Muthunga Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, is a sanctuary and Elephant Reserve in Wayanad district of Kerala. It is one of the top places of wildlife in Kerala and also one of the best Wayanad tourist places.Established in 1973, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary was brought under the Project Elephant in the year 1991-92.


6 Kuruva island

Kuruva Island, also known as Kuruva Dweep, is a protected river delta in Wayanad district of Kerala. Kuruva Dweep is being developed as eco-tourism project and is one of the popular places to visit in Wayanad.Kuruva Island is a cluster of small islands formed by the delta in the River Kabini and is spread over 950 acres of uninhabited area. 


7 Light house beach

Light House Beach is the largest of the three beaches of Kovalam. A 30 meter high light house is situated at the southern end of the beach, upon which the beach is named. Adjacent to Eve's Beach, this beach can be reached by foot from Eve's Beach.Tourists are not allowed inside the Light House. Tourists can climb the hillock on which the light house is located, for a spectacular view of the Sunset. 


8 Poovar

Poovar is a small coastal town at the southern tip of Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala. The village is encompassed by a beautiful beach on one side and the backwaters on the other.Situated close to the Neyyar River estuary, Poovar is one among the natural wonders where the Lake, River, Sea and Beach meet the land. Poovar is a lovely island with long stretches of glowing sand, serene surroundings and refreshing gentle breeze.


9 Anantha padmanabha temple

Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in the Fort Area. The temple is one of the 108 Divyadesams of Lord Vishnu. The main deity is seen in reclining position over the serpent Anantha or Adi Sesha. The temple depicts a blend of Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. Padmanabha Kshetram and its properties were controlled by Ettuveetil Pillamar under the guidance of Ettara Yogam. 
 


10 Neyyar dam & wildlife sanctuary

Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 128 sq. kms at the foot of Western Ghats. The Neyyar Dam built over Neyyar River is located within the Wildlife Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is the home of unique species of flora and fauna. From wild boars and elephants to the vast range of medicinal herbs, Neyyar is truly a nature lover's paradise


11 Ponmudi

Ponmudi, meaning Golden Crown, is part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea. Ponmudi is surrounded by scenic hills, spice plantations, tea estates, natural springs and winding streams. Ponmudi was founded by Rishi Parshuram, a prominent Indian mythological figure.Ponmudi is blessed with scenic splendor and natural beauty. It has a carpet of thick tropical forest that rolls down to the foot of the hill range.


12 Napier museum / govt. art museum

The Napier Museum (also called as Govt. Art Museum) is one of the earliest Museums in India established by the Maharaja of Travancore in 1855. It is located in Zoological Gardens compound.It was built in the Indo-Saracenic style. It has a rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts, ancient ornaments, bronze idols, ivory carvings and a chariot

17 Chinnar wildlife sanctuary

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is a rain shadow area of the Western Ghats which gets only 48 days of rain per year. It is under consideration by UNESCO for selection as a World Heritage Site. It is one of the prime attractions and top trekking sites in Munnar.Situated on Kerala-Tamil Nadu boarder, it is bordered with Eravikulam National Park, Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary.
 


18 Boat cruises

Boat cruise is the best mode in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to watch the wildlife from a close distance. Boating in Thekkady is arranged by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) in the Periyar Lake and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. The lake was formed by Mullaperiyar Dam constructed in 1895. The land surrounding the lake is commonly frequented by wildlife. 
 


19 Bamboo rafting

The Bamboo Rafting is an interest programme with the mix of rafting and trekking.The programme starts at 8 AM from the boat jetty. After a couple of hours rafting, tourists are taken for trekking into the forest. The forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. Snacks and Lunch will be provided on the way and trekking will be finished by 3 PM.
 


20 Trekking / nature walk

Short trekking programs are available that cover 4-5 Km and completed in 3 hrs. This is a good option to watch birds, butterflies and some wildlife. The trails often pass through evergreen and moist deciduous forests and grasslands. It costs Rs. 300 per person and a group can have a maximum of 4 persons. A 12 Km trek (one way) to the ruined Mangaladevi temple in middle of the Periyar Sanctuary is a great option to experience beauty of the park in depth. It is recommended for experience trekkers.
 


21 Sholayar dam

The Solaiyar Dam is the second largest rock dam in Asia and measures about 20 Km in length. The dam is an important reservoir under the Parambikulam-Aliyar Project. The surroundings of the dam are full of great natural beauty. Permission to enter the dam can be obtained at the office near dam entrance.
 


22 Thrissur

The name Thrissur was derived from Tiru-Shiva-Peru which literally means the big town of Lord Shiva. The name owes itself to the most prominent feature of the city that is the Vadakkunathan Temple, Shiva as its presiding deity. Thrissur is also known as the Cultural Capital of Kerala because of its cultural, spiritual and religious leanings throughout history.
